new flying site

We are currently in negiotations with an existing plane club to see if we can fly helicopters when they are not flying. The prospects are looking good and this will mean that all three of us can fly together for the first time.

The flying site is well away from everyone and has permission for both electric and nitro (perhaps one day) and is large enough to have three helis up at once.

The decision will be made on 27 February 2010, so hopefully the following weekends weather will be good.

introduction

Since getting a E-sky Honeybee V2 for Christmas 2009 I have been well and truely bitten by the remote control helicopter bug and has become somewhat of an obsession.

During 2010 I brought a 450 size kit based on the Align T-Rex 450 and finally completed the CopterX 450v2 kit in December 2010 and now the hobby has really taken off. I have secured a local private flying site through a local land-owner who saw me hovering my Honeybee in my garden and I am in the process of setting up a small heli-club at another site with two friends who also have 450 size electric helicopters.

This blog is aimed to document my progress and the progress of the guys I fly with as we move from hovering to forward flight and eventually 3D (if we ever get there and can afford it). There will be crash photos and hopefully some videos, however, we will not be tracking our expenditure in case our wives find out!
