Boring video testing FPV set-up (not FPV)

It was a very windy day so most of the time I was pointing into the sun. However it does show how well the camera deals with the light. Not bad for a $30 camera package.
PS Excuse the crap landing. Missed the runway completely!

Second video sadly the memory card ran out just before the landing, which was a far better one (honest!).

It's not all crashing

To prove it's not all about crashing, here are some of the highlights from yesterday flying.

Finally decent weather

After what feels like months of rain we finally had a dry sunny day to get up the flying field.

Careful negotiation of the mud and the successful extraction of Adrian's car by a bunch of itinerant strawberry pickers found us whizzing across the sky with the 450's.

After a bit of close-in remote circles from me, Adrian tried a few slow wide loops with the helicopter above our heads (a little worrying at times, especially when inverted).

We then decided to film a few loops and Adrian seemed to be enjoying being upside down so went for some inverted hovering and general flying about, the first lucky escape with the collective the wrong way should have been a warning, however, the warning was not heeded due to the achievement and it all ended in pieces.

Kudos for the effort though!

Post crash damage

Easy couple of days learning to fly again

Adrian and Pete headed up to the field to learn how to fly again. Too much time spent off the sticks and playing with planes has taken it's toll.

So back to basic hovering skills for a couple of days to gain a bit of confidence.

Here's the video (bit long as it's all in one):

Gaui ploughing

This is how you plough fields gaui style.

Damage seemed fairly minor, blades, gears (due to being in Idle up), tail fin, canopy and flybar. Crash cost $$$ video priceless!!!

E-Spad first flights

So got the E-SPAD completed today so took it for a test flight.
It flies fantastic. Both Adrian and I had a great fly with it but then I handed it over to our club instructor Ian who promptly planted it into the ground and broke the motor shaft....!!!!

Here is the video:

And now for the 450

Following on from the Gaui, a bit of weekend flying with the 450 A rather fast take off on this next one!
